Gareth Jones to join Revolution as editor

LONDON - Gareth Jones, news editor of Marketing, is to join Haymarket’s digital marketing title Revolution as editor.

Revolution, which was launched in 1997, is the only UK title dedicated to the digital marketing sector.

As editor, Jones will be responsible for the monthly print title and for building the brand online via its web site and weekly email. Revolution’s expanding portfolio includes webcasts, the annual Revolution Awards, Conferences, Forums and a number of successful special reports.

Having worked on New Media Age prior to joining Haymarket as digital editor on Marketing, Gareth has reported and worked within the digital sector for seven years.

Earlier this year, he presented Marketing’s first online video masterclass (www.marketingmasterclass.tv) on the search marketplace.

"I am delighted that Gareth is joining Revolution as editor," Simon Lees, publishing director of Revolution, said. "He has already built a strong reputation in the digital market and is perfectly placed to help us take the magazine forward and, crucially, to expand the brand online, as we look to build on the success of its web site."

He added: "We all know that the focus on digital is expanding rapidly and this presents Revolution with numerous opportunities."

Jones said: "I'm thrilled to be joining Revolution at such an exciting time. The digital marketing industry is evolving rapidly and Revolution is better placed than ever before to take advantage of this."

'Revolution is the only title in the UK title dedicated to the digital marketing sector?'

Blimey what happened to NMA then?

A much better publication as well. Surely you can't have a 'monthly' digital title?

Good work, Morgan - really please for you.

It's a shame for Marketing, obviously, as you looked liked you'd pointed them in the right direction, but it will be great to see Rev become proper competition for us lot at NMA again.

Btw, good work BR: "the only UK title dedicated to the digital marketing sector" - hilarious!

A loss for the readers of Marketing, but a gain for the digital marketing community. Congratulations to Gareth on a well-deserved promotion - he'll make a great editor.
